Surgical & Examination Lights – Medicanix services, sells, and installs ceiling and chair mounted lights, both new and used. Burton, Medical Illumination, and Ritter are currently popular as well as a large variety of dental lights such as Pelton & Crane, Faro, Marus, Forest and others. There is more to installing a ceiling light than making sure that it won’t fall and injure someone. It is of all importance that the mount be rigid enough so that the extension of the lighthead arm does not cause any measurable deflection of the mount. If the mounting is not rigid, or not carefully leveled, the arm will drift (swing) as driven by gravity. Sometimes drift can be counteracted by tightening the anti-drift brakes (if the light is so-fitted) but this is not desirable as it makes the light more difficult to move. When it comes to installing medical lights experience counts!
Minor Surgical and Podiatric Suites- Medicanix provides the mandatory Electrical Safety Inspections for surgical suites (electrical leakage measurements). Surgical & Laboratory Microscopes- Medicanix sells and services a large variety of microscopes. As with surgical lights, (see above) wall or ceiling mounted units require skill and experience. Medicanix has access to a wide variety of both high-end and lower-end units. On-site cleaning and lubrication service is offered, often in combination with other items requiring regular Preventive Maintenance or Electrical Safety Inspections. The ability of Medicanix to service a variety of specialized items with a single service call is another of our winning ways.
Sterilization – This is a large segment of Medicanix’s business mix. Medicanix sells and services virtually all brands from the smallest and oldest tabletop units to large hospital systems. Medicanix is also associated with Autoclave Testing Service, Inc. (www.autoclavesporetesting.com) who provides third-party monitoring service of in-office sterilization as required by JCHCO, AAAASF, and other accrediting bodies and recommended by NAMI and CDC for dental practices, &c.
The best selling autoclave brands are Pelton & Crane, Tuttnauer, Midmark, Sci-Can (Stat/IM), Barnstead (Chemiclave) and Consolidated Stills & Sterilizers. Medicanix also excels at maintaining older units long after factory support is no longer available.
Small Medical Equipment- Other equipment common in general medical practices that Medicanix provides service for are Electro-Cardiographs, Defibrillators, Ophthalmoscopes, Viewboxes, Fibre-Optic Light Sources, Special battery and lamp replacements, Patient Scales –both mechanical and electronic (Medicanix is a dealer for both Detecto and Health-O-Meter).
Ear, Nose, and Throat and Ophthalmic- Besides being expert with Examination Chairs, Medicanix services ENT cabinets (eg. SMR, Storz. Midmark), Vacuum and Pressure Pumps (eg. Schuco, Gomco), Specialized Lighting devices and general repairs to Fibre-Optic cables, Electric cables, Foot Controls and Custom Cabinetry.
